University of Louisiana System

The UL System is the largest system in the state in terms of enrollment, but with only 17 people on staff it is the most efficient.

HISTORY

  • Founded in 1974 as the Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities
  • Name changed in 1998 to the University of Louisiana System and transferred five community colleges to the newly created LCTC System
  • In 2011, the University of New Orleans joined the UL System making the system Nine Universities Strong
